A useful TED search becomes much less useful when you have to open the website and run it again every day.
TED can create a custom RSS feed for a saved search. You can copy that feed URL, send it to the Telegram bot @eis_rss_tender_bot and receive matching procurement notices directly in Telegram.
The workflow is simple:TED search → saved search → custom RSS feed → Telegram alerts
You still need to read the full notice and procurement documents on TED. The bot helps you discover new entries without repeatedly checking the same search page.
What you need
Before starting, prepare:
- a TED account connected through EU Login;
- a search that returns the notices you want to monitor;
- a Telegram account.
You do not need to create your own Telegram bot, configure an API token or run an RSS reader.
Step 1: Create a focused search on TED
Open TED and create a search using one of the available options:
- Quick Search;
- Advanced Search;
- Expert Search;
- Browse by business opportunity;
- Browse by business sector or CPV;
- Browse by place of performance.
A broad search may produce too many irrelevant notices. Narrow it before creating the RSS feed.
Useful filters include:
- business opportunity or notice type;
- CPV sector;
- buyer country;
- place of performance;
- procurement value;
- procedure type;
- publication date;
- deadline for submission;
- language in which tenders can be submitted.
For example, a supplier of outdoor fitness equipment could combine a relevant CPV category with selected countries and competition notices.
Review the results before saving the search. The RSS feed will follow the same criteria, so an unfocused search will produce unfocused Telegram notifications.
Step 2: Save the search
You must be signed in to save a search.
After running the search:
- Open the search results.
- Select “Save search”.
- Enter a clear name for the search.
- Confirm the saved search.
Use a name that will still make sense when it appears in Telegram, for example:
- Outdoor fitness equipment — France and Belgium
- Medical devices — Nordic countries
- Road maintenance — Ireland
- School furniture — European Union
TED allows a registered user to save multiple search profiles. You can manage them from My Dashboard.
Step 3: Find the TED RSS feed URL
Open:
My Dashboard → My saved searches
Find the search you want to monitor.
The RSS feed is normally activated for a saved search. When it is active, an RSS icon appears in the saved searches table.
Then:
- Click the RSS icon next to the saved search.
- TED will open the RSS page for that search.
- Copy the full URL from the browser address bar.
Copy the address of the RSS page itself. Do not copy the URL of an individual procurement notice or the ordinary search results page.
A valid custom feed is hosted on the official ted.europa.eu domain.
TED also lets you choose how many entries are included in a custom RSS feed through Site preferences. A larger feed can be useful during the initial connection, but it may also include more older entries.
Step 4: Send the RSS URL to Telegram
Open @eis_rss_tender_bot in Telegram.
When the bot asks for an RSS feed:
- Paste the URL copied from TED.
- Send the message.
- Wait for the feed validation.
- Give the monitoring profile a clear name if requested.
- Enable monitoring.
Once the feed is accepted, new entries from that TED search can be delivered to Telegram.
You can create separate monitoring profiles for different products, countries or procurement categories instead of combining everything into one broad feed.
What appears in a TED notification
The bot uses the information available in the TED RSS feed and may display:
- notice title;
- country;
- procurement category;
- publication date;
- submission deadline, when included in the feed;
- notice type;
- TED publication number;
- direct link to the notice.

The original notice values are not automatically translated. A notice published with an English, French, Polish or other title remains in that language.
Not every TED entry is an open tender
Do not assume that every item in a TED RSS feed is a new opportunity for submitting a bid.
Depending on the saved search, the feed may include different types of notices:
- planning notices;
- contract or concession notices;
- award notices;
- contract modification notices;
- voluntary ex-ante transparency notices;
- other result or information notices.
A contract notice may describe an active competition, but you must still verify the deadline.
An award notice usually reports a result rather than a new opportunity.
A modification notice describes a change to an existing contract.
To reduce this noise, return to the TED search and refine the business opportunity or notice type filters. The Telegram bot follows the feed you provide; it does not replace the search criteria configured on TED.
TED already offers email alerts. Why use Telegram?
TED allows registered users to create search alerts with scheduled email delivery.
Telegram can be more convenient when:
- procurement monitoring is part of your daily messenger workflow;
- email alerts are easy to overlook;
- you monitor several narrowly focused searches;
- you want a compact notification with a direct link;
- you prefer to review new entries from a phone.
You can continue using TED email alerts and Telegram at the same time. They are different delivery channels for the same monitoring task.
Important limitations
Telegram notifications are a discovery tool, not a procurement decision.
The bot does not:
- decide whether your company is eligible;
- verify qualification requirements;
- analyse the complete procurement documents;
- confirm that the deadline is still valid;
- translate the notice or tender documents;
- calculate the real cost of participation;
- submit a tender;
- replace the official TED notice.
Some fields, such as the buyer, contract value or exact CPV code, may not be present in the RSS entry. The bot does not invent missing data or scrape additional details from the notice page.
Always open the official TED notice before deciding to participate.
Troubleshooting
The RSS icon is missing
Check that:
- you are signed in;
- the search has been saved;
- RSS is activated for that saved search;
- you are looking in My Dashboard → My saved searches.
The bot rejects the URL
Make sure you copied:
- the full URL opened by the RSS icon;
- a URL hosted on ted.europa.eu;
- the feed page, not an individual notice;
- the URL without accidentally removing any query parameters.
Too many irrelevant notices arrive
The bot cannot correct an overly broad TED query.
Edit the saved search and add more precise filters, such as:
- CPV category;
- buyer country;
- place of performance;
- business opportunity;
- notice type;
- procedure;
- deadline;
- keywords or exact phrases.
Award and modification notices appear
Your search criteria probably include those notice types.
Refine the saved search to focus on competition notices when you are looking specifically for open opportunities.
No deadline appears in Telegram
Not every TED RSS entry contains a submission deadline. Open the official notice to check the full dates and procedure details.
Start receiving TED notices in Telegram
Create a focused search on TED, save it and copy the custom RSS URL from My Dashboard.
Then send the feed to @eis_rss_tender_bot.
The bot will monitor the RSS feed and deliver new entries to Telegram, while the official TED notice remains the source for documents, requirements, deadlines and participation decisions.
